You're tacky and I hate you

Today was tacky day at work for spirit week. I decided to wear my long tribal skirt and my orange flannel shirt. It wasn't that tacky, but it worked.
Lunch
Tacky Day

I slept in and then went to lunch with a few RCs at ECV (Summit) and had 'Georgia Chicken'. I'm still not entirely sure what made it 'Georgia-like', but it was yummy nonetheless.

After lunch, I headed to Aderhold to see one of my girls do a presentation on Scaphoid fractures. Apparently it is a very common fracture among people who play sports and fall on their hands.
After the presentation, I walked back to Myers and called Tess to help pass the time. It wasn't a very far walk (only took about 12 minutes), but it was super hot and humid so it felt like an eternity.

When I got back to my room, Diamond and I went on an adventure to the thrift store to try to find clothes for the rest of spirit week. Unfortunately, we didn't have any luck.
Dinner
Dessert

We got back to Myers just in time for 4-5 free time. I was so hot I kind of just chilled out in front of my door and made conversation with a few kids that came down the hall.
We headed to dinner at 4:45 and for the first time, I did not have to set up the table. I made one of my girls who was late to our group meeting set it up.
I grabbed shredded cheesy potatoes and turkey pasta something. The potatoes were amazing but I could have lived without the turkey pasta stuff...

Tacky RCs

After dinner, I headed to another presentation. This time, I learned about synesthesia, which is a complex neurological disorder that involves all of the senses being tangled up. For example, one of my girls can see colors when she sees or hears a number. It's pretty interesting.

After the presentation, a few RCs met up to discuss TIPsync, our Lip Sync event that is happening on Sunday night. I'm excited and I think it is going to be a fun time, but I'm a little bit worried about screening the students' performances on Thursday and Friday....

At 7:25, my RC group met up to go to Walmart for RC Group Night. I drove a van with 6 girls and a TA, Zak, drove another van with the remaining 6. The girls were so excited about Walmart. I was surprised that people could be so enthused about it....
I found a long pink dress to wear for Disney Day (since I'm going as Aurora) and I also found a green bandana for Dawgfest. A lot of my girls picked out outfits for twin day tomorrow and also for Disney Day on Thursday.

Once everyone checked out, we went to Chick-fil-A. Again, my girls were ecstatic. It doesn't take much to please them. It's kind of adorable.
We got back to Myers around 9:30 and then had free time until 10. We had our RC group meeting and discussed the agenda for the remainder of the week.

At 11, I met with the RCs on the green team for Dawgfest to revamp everything we discussed in Sunday's meeting. Apparently the students were using the Shrek innuendos as a reference to a youtube video called 'Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life', which is a really bad thing. I had no idea at the time, but it was brought to my attention so we decided to change everything, minus our team name (Green Baes).

After the meeting, we just kind of sat around talking about twin day. Steven and I are going to be twins. He is currently at Walmart with Gianna and Carter, picking out the perfect shirt for us to wear. I'm a bit nervous...

Tomorrow, I am on med pager from 10am-10am Thursday. Hopefully there are not too many sick kids.

Until next time,
A
