Friday the 13th and a Full Moon

Today has been so crazy. I woke up at 10:30AM and had to drive the Academic Coordinator, Ginny, across campus since I was on transport duty. (Apparently everything that could go wrong for her today did....)
After running around for an hour, we realized that we were half an hour late to our admin meeting. We got there as fast as we could and then discussed staff concerns. At 11:45, we dismissed and Tim, Diamond, and I headed up to the staff lounge to help out with decorations for the dance that was going to happen tonight.

I helped paint a banner that said "We were TIPsters before it was Hipster". It was cute.

At 12:20, Tim, Diamond, Sarah, Jess, and I headed to lunch to discuss staff concerns. We have decided to work on staff bonding, which we think might get better now that we have had the dance.

We met in a conference room at 1 with the rest of the residential staff to discuss staff bonding, duties, and evening activities.
The meeting took FOREVER and I started to freak out since I was on transport duty and needed to go shopping before 4...
Once the meeting was over, I headed to Walmart to get supplies for the Amazing Race and for some students who were sick.

I got back to campus around 4:15 and had the hardest time getting to the office. A bunch of students were gathered right outside of the office to sign up for TIPstar activities and for the Amazing Race teams.

Once I got into the office, I had to run to the med room, back to the office, to the staff lounge, back to the office again and then to my room. The students were in the way every time and it made me feel a bit claustrophobic. It was rough.

At 4:45, my girls and my RC buddy's girls all went to dinner. (Desiree is part of the dance committee and she had to set up early.)

Dinner
I decided to go with scrambled eggs with bacon, onions, and green peppers and a 'Big Dawg' chocolate cake for dessert.

The girls rushed through dinner because they were super excited for the dance. Once everyone finished, we headed back to Myers so everyone could get ready.

Love them <3
Love this girl <3
We walked over to the dance at 7:30. The MLC felt like it was miles away, but when we finally got there, everyone was super excited. The dance went on until 10:30 and everyone had a blast.
There are 6 traditional TIP UGA songs. Sandstorm, Wonderwall, It's the End of the World as We Know It, Breakfast at Tiffany's Save Tonight, Time of Your Life, and American Pie. The kids circle up for the last 4 songs and cry. It's sad and adorable.

Once the dance was over, we headed back to Myers. I met with my girls to discuss the agenda for tomorrow and to make sure everyone was alright after the cryfest.

At 11:45, everyone's lights were out and the staff met on the balcony for pizza.

Tomorrow is going to be hectic as well. We have breakfast, class visits, lunch, Student vs. Staff Ultimate Frisbee Tournament (which I am participating in), break and dinner, the Amazing Race, free time, and then sleep. It's going to be insane, but I am SUPER excited.
Until next time,
A
