So much counting
Today I was woken up yet again by the lovely fire alarms. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't sound like the world was about to end. I woke up and headed to the office to pick up the keys and clipboard for med pager. I sat in the office and helped count quarters for laundry since there was nothing else for me to do.
After I counted a bunch of quarters ($250), I headed back to my room to start watching It's Always Sunny on Netflix. I'm not very far in the series, but so far it seems pretty good (and funny).
I headed to the office at 1 to grab Terrance for lunch and another RC, Noah, came with us as well. We decided to head to Summit in East Campus Village (ECV) for a change of scenery. It was pretty darn hot today so we decided to test out the buses. We missed the first bus by 1 minute and had to wait 15 for the next one that went to ECV. We wound up getting on a bus that didn't even take us all the way there because we were tired of waiting and figured we could walk some of the way.

Lunch
When we walked into Summit, I didn't know where to begin. There were so many options that I couldn't decide what to eat. After much deliberation, I settled for a "Philly Cheesesteak" with pepperjack cheese, green peppers, and onions and a peanut butter tart thing. Everything was so yummy. Terrance decided to also grab a peanut butter tart, but dropped it on himself, which was hysterical to Noah and I.
After lunch, we missed the bus by 30 seconds and had to take a bus that dropped us off kind of far from Myers. (If it wasn't so hot outside and I didn't burn every time the sun touched me, it wouldn't have been so bad....)

I sat watching Awkward. and Faking It until 4 when the students returned from class. I went to a meeting with the TAs to discuss 'The Amazing Race' and to ask for volunteers for the event. I was able to get a bunch on board, which will really help this event. I am starting to get really stressed out though because my committee hasn't really responded to me about helping out.... It feels like it might turn into a one-man show soon.... (The event is on SATURDAY....)

Dinner
After dinner, I met with Jess to talk about an incident that occurred right before dinner with a few students gossiping about another student. One of the students got mouthy with me and I wanted to make sure it was on someone's radar. (We have to inform our supervisors about EVERYTHING, which is helpful.)
Tim and I met to plan our evening activity from 6:15-7. We decided to host a program called Scenes from a Hat and would have the students improvise situations they pulled from a hat.
Overall, the program was SUPER successful (and hilarious). Everything the students did was TIPpropriate and everyone had a great time.

After the activity, I worked on sending emails, again, for 'The Amazing Race' to the instructors to see if they could (and would) help out on Saturday. Here's to hoping they respond and can help!
While I was writing the email, a TIPster came up to me and apologized for his attitude earlier in the day. He said he assumed I was a 4th year TIPster who was trying to boss him around so that is why he was rude. He also said that even if I were a TIPster, his attitude was not nice or the way to handle a situation. I was very impressed with his apology and thanked him for being man enough to admit he was in the wrong.
At 10PM, I met with my girls about bullying. They were really upset that bullying is happening at TIP and now have a better understanding on how to put an end to it. After we got the serious stuff out of the way, we did highs and lows. A few girls in my group who attended the improv program said that was their high. It made my night! I seriously love my girls.
After the meeting, I started to chat with 2 RCs, Kaneisha and Desiree, about Orange is the New Black. Desiree just started watching it and Kaneisha is almost finished season 2. I can't wait to be able to talk to her about everything.
Tomorrow, I have nothing to do except run my Iphonography program from 7-9. After lights out, I might head into town for a drink with a few other staff members, but we shall see. (I might be too sleepy.)
Hopefully the fire alarms are actually finished being tested and I will be able to sleep in tomorrow.
Until next time,
A
