Bananagrams in the Sun

Today was excruciatingly boring until about 4pm. Diamond, Terrance, Tim, Mayowa, and I all went to breakfast at 9 and spent the hour busting on each other. It was pretty great. I had eggs, wheat toast, hash browns, and bacon. It was yummy.

After breakfast, we headed to the staff lounge and basically sat around chatting and coloring a bit. I began working on some images from a big shoot I did before I left Arcadia. It was nice to have some time to edit.
Around 1pm, we headed to lunch. I grabbed a salad and brown rice. I'm trying to be mindful of what I am eating while I am here, but I will probably fail miserably.
After lunch, we sat around again. I continued to edit the photos and even sent some of the finished images to my models to look at. (The images are still pending review by them so hopefully they like them enough to let me post some!)
One of the new staff members, Ralph, came to ask us to help assemble a futon in the main office. Diamond and I were very successful, mainly because it was the world's easiest futon to assemble....
Our lovely creation
At 4pm, Diamond and I headed back to the main office to help greet new staff members. It was fun and we met some characters. I am looking forward to working with them.
We went to dinner at 5pm. I tried a vegetarian beef stir fry, which could have been worse, but also could have been better. I made myself some dirt for dessert and then headed back to Myers.

After dinner, we took the staff members on a short campus tour by car. Ahmaud guided the tour and Diamond drove. I kinda just went along for the ride since I did not want to be stuck in the staff lounge again.
Our attempt at Bananagrams
When we finished the tour, we headed outside to play a huge game of Bananagrams in the quad. We were split into 5 teams and we had to all run for letter tiles in the middle of the quad. Everyone grabbed 2 tiles and we had to create words. Anytime a group placed all of their tiles, they shouted "PEEL!" and everyone had to grab another tile and place it. Once all of the tiles were out of the center of the quad, the group who had all of their tiles placed had to shout "BANANAGRAMS!" and Sarah checked to see if they actually had won. Sadly, my team did not win any of the rounds, but we had a good time and laughed a lot.

After the game, we went on a Target run with the new staff members. I got to drive the big Chevy Tahoe, which we have named President Snow. (All of the vehicles are named after Hunger Games characters.) It was awesome driving such a nice car. As I mentioned in a previous entry, going back to Gertie is going to be difficult after driving such schnazzy cars.
When we returned to campus, Diamond and I headed to the staff lounge to hang out. I've still been editing images and Diamond was working on logistics for the Duke TIP Blog that she will be running.
Feeling important
I just mailed a letter, I just mailed a letter
Rachel, our supervisor, asked us to run a letter to the FedEx box by the science buildings. Diamond and I had no idea where to go, but a staff member, Alison, helped us find it.

Now we are just sitting in the lounge, listening to Pandora. (A lot of Panic! at the Disco, Paramore, and All American Rejects have been playing...)
Tomorrow, we will be grabbing breakfast at 9am. I am excited to sleep in again. We have a packed schedule tomorrow, but it should be fun since we have some ice breakers. (One of which Diamond, Tim, and I get to run! =D)
Hopefully I have a lot to post about tomorrow!
Until next time,
A
