12. 11. 10.

When I first started this post, I had 12 days left in Athens.... Now I only have 10 days left. Holy shit. It's very hard for me to believe this is happening. I'm ready to go home, but I'm not ready to leave all of the incredible people I have met here. I'm going to try not to think about it until closer to the end of my time.
Sunday was another long day. It started at 9AM with driving a few students and an RC to the Methodist church downtown. After driving, I worked on TIPsync advertisements and printed them.
Once I finished this, the students at church were ready to be picked up.
When I got back to Myers, I actively supervised until 11:45 and then met my girls for lunch.
We ate lunch and then everyone got ready for TIPstar.
This term, Desiree and I decided to do a Zumba activity. Zumba for three hours did not seem like a bad idea at the time, but oh man was it a workout. I wouldn't call it a mistake, I would just say it was much more difficult than I anticipated it to be.
The students had a blast. There were three different rotations and the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. After about a half hour of Zumba, we moved to group dances including the wobble, cupid shuffle, and the cotton-eye joe. The kids had a great time with this part. We even taught them a new way to do the cupid shuffle and I think they are going to do it at the dance on Friday. Fingers crossed they remember how to do it!
After three hours of Zumba, I was exhausted. I ran back to my room and showered so I wasn't gross for dinner and the movie.
At 4:45, my girls and I met for dinner. We ate at OHouse and then went to the MLC to watch the Lego Movie. It was AWESOME. I seriously didn't think it was going to be that good, but it had me laughing out loud for most of it. I definitely recommend seeing it.
After the movie, we announced the prizes for the winners of the BiG Event. Third place won Hawaiian Punch, second place won a pineapple, and first place won a big spoon. The kids LOVED it.
Immediately after, we announced the teams for DAWGfest. I am on the Green Team again this term. WOOHOO! We had our DAWGfest meetings and decided that we are going to be Hulk Smash. I AM SO FRICKIN EXCITED FOR THIS SUNDAY! I GET TO BE THE HULK!
After the meeting, the kids had free-time until 10PM and then were in bed by 10:45PM.
One of the kids drew me
Monday was not a very exciting day. I honestly cannot remember what happened except for my blind contours program. The kids enjoyed themselves and learned a lot. It was a fun program, but it got really loud at times since the kids were talking a lot.
Tuesday was the day that I realized I only had 12 days left here. Everyone was really sad about my realization, but we have to face the facts at some point....
JD and I visited Vet Med
Tuesday was also my RC Group Night. Gianna and I took all of our girls downtown to Pitaya and Starbucks. I scored an adorable purple dress for $5, but it unfortunately not TIPpropriate enough to wear to prom. When we got back to Myers, one of my girls was asked to the dance by the guy she has a crush on. It was adorable. He gave me a package slip to give her and she went to the Med Room to get a 'package' and he was standing there with a sign, asking her to the dance. She actually cried. It was adorable.

Decades Day

Wednesday was my day off. Gianna and I drove to Atlanta. We left around 10:30AM and got there by 12:15PM. I was so excited to be there since I was going to see my best friend from South Africa, Sarah. Gianna dropped me off (it felt like my mom was dropping me off for a play date) and then Sarah and I headed to lunch at Friday's. It was so nice seeing her. We chatted as if no time had passed, even though it had almost been a year. (Terrifying to think about... It feels like just yesterday we were in the Loft cooking dinner together and grabbing white chocolate kit-kat bars from Spar....)

We sat talking for hours, but it felt like time had flown by. Around 4PM, we headed to the Dekalb Mall to meet Gianna. Apparently there is a North Dekalb Mall and a South Dekalb Mall... Whoops! Sarah and I drove over to the North Dekalb Mall once we realized we were not outside of the same Macy's....

When we got back to Myers, Gianna and I headed to dinner. After dinner, we headed to trivia at the Blind Pig to spend our $25 house cash from last week. I had two Yuenglings and then split two pitchers with Jake, Chase, and Prashanth. (Apparently none of the girls ever want beer at trivia...) While we were playing trivia, I was super caught up in the Union game, which they had on the TV. I saw Ryan a few times, which was SO COOL and I pointed him out to everyone at my table. It was funny. Oh, and I got to see the Union win 3-1. WOOHOO! Our trivia team wound up coming in third place this week, which means $15 house cash for next week. WOO!
As soon as I got back from trivia, I passed out. I was so exhausted (and a bit drunk) that I just couldn't keep my eyes open.
Thursday, today, marks 10 days until I am back in PA. HOLY TOLEDO. WHY IS TIME FLYING BY!? I seriously cannot believe it....

Today has been pretty unexciting. I woke up at 11AM and got a few things done before heading to lunch at ECV. After lunch, Gianna and I went to Walmart for transport duty and bought 30 things of Play-Doh for $15. It was glorious. After Walmart, we picked up headphones from radioshack for a student and then headed to the bank to convert $20's to $1's and $5's. When we got back, it was just about to be free-time for the kids. Carter and I ran TIPsync screeings until 4:45PM and nearly died because the acts are hysterical this term. I can't wait to see them all come together on Sunday.
After the screenings, I brought my girls and Kaneisha's girls to dinner.
All the twins
Quadruplets <3
My girls were picking on me at dinner about Jake, asking me if he was my boyfriend. They still do not understand that guys and girls can be friends without dating.... Oh high school....
When everyone was done eating, we headed outside and my quadruplets and I took pictures together for twin day. Yay spirit week!

After our photoshoot, I sat in the office and worked on my dance-posal for JD, one of the RCs. I made a bow and arrow out of paper and a paper airplane to put the arrow in since it wouldn't actually launch. I planned on asking her to the dance during 9-10PM free time.
At 7PM, I ran a playing with clay program with Play-Doh. The kids loved it because they were able to mix a bunch of colors together to make a giant mess of colors. They had a blast, but they were SUPER rowdy. Who knew teenagers would get so excited about Play-Doh?

My masterpiece
At 9:15PM, I sent JD to the balcony. I changed into all black to look like Katniss and stood in the lobby. I shouted to her and said "I have a very important question to ask you!" and then tossed the plane to her. Sadly, it didn't reach. She came running downstairs and I tossed it to her again. She saw the arrow that said "JD, will you volunteer as tribute and be my date to the dance tomorrow? -A" and said "Yes!". WOO! It was so cute. The kids loved it and a few caught it on video. Hopefully this will kill the 'Allee and Jake' rumors that have been going around. Damn me getting along with guys better than girls....
After putting my kids to bed, I headed out to night duty. Carter and I already took a cell phone from a kid who was FaceTiming. (They are not the brightest kids.....) Hopefully the last 40 or so minutes are quiet.....
Tomorrow, I am driving to the CDC for the Pharmacology class field trip. I'm excited to leave UGA again.
This weekend is going to be hectic so I probably won't be blogging again until Sunday.
Until next time,
A
